Home In The Office

By Alcia Wong

The science of psychology has established that the human brain is at its best operation when it is relaxed. Perhaps this is where the feeling and proficiency in working at home stems from. People love to work in their households because it is a space they are familiar with. After all, if employees need motivation, the home and its gears could be the best font.

As a result of the need to assemble every space to make it fitting to its occupants, interior design took many tips further. Home, apartment building, and condo interior design should not the only ones that necessitate work. Office renovation and designing is also becoming a big part of a company make-over. Managers and business owners now grasp that the office should provide a homely feel to its staff to help them work more favourably and wisely. Inspiration then, comes from the living places.

Offices should have tables that could deal with everything the worker has and requests. Tables should have surfaces well-built enough to bear whatever is placed upon it. Some employees choose glass tables because they only use a laptop, pens and papers, and a few textbooks. Employees who need larger books, desktops, and more things should go for a metallic or wood table.

Personel would need drawers to sort out and keep their records and possessions. These can be between the legs of the table where it is within painless grasp for the user. Drawers, however, must be reserved at a minimum, or should be placed only when required, to give space under the table for the employee's legs to sit through.

Plants could also be placed in the table. Picture-frames and breakables are classic items, but you may also set coffee-table books and candies. Sticky notes, organizers, and pens must be chosen warily to fit the table's design.

As for the office, give it a paint that enhances the lights. Yellow is a good colour and a brighter shade will do well. Tables must be planned so that everyone is accommodated in the room, yet there will be adequate space for walking and interacting.
