Coordinating Full Time Work And School

By Carol Bell

It is never easy to work and study at the same time. People even find it difficult to fry an egg while talking on the phone, and there are so many other distractions in your life which make this complicated. Full time work and school is especially difficult when you have a family that you have to deal with. There are always problems that crop up here, and it is important to be aware of this, even though you are focused on your studies.

This is something that many people are simply forced into because of the funds that are available to them. In this day and age, a degree is something that you have to have. Of course, it is not easy to take time off just to go to school. Some people decide to complete their schooling after dropping out years ago.

It is important to find the support of your loved ones. It can take quite a toll on these relationships when you pull away from those that you are close to. You need to take this into consideration because it works both ways. You can't expect your friends to support you when you don't offer them the same kind of support.

One way to avoid this obstacle is to join up with an online program. Many of these programs are affiliated with top universities. They are less expensive because they are online. However, you need to do your research and find out more about the program. There are scamers out there who will take you for a ride. This happens in any industry.

Without this type of planning, it can be overwhelming. You won't know where to start, and often this leads to procrastination. The stress will build up and often this leads to anxiety. It is important to keep your emotions intact. When you are feeling as though this is becoming too stressful, you need to look for more support. This can sometimes lead to burnout and when you reach this point, it is not easy to turn back.

In the case where you don't have the support, it is a good idea to look for a mentor or a coach. Even if you do have friends and family members to support you, a coach can be a huge help. They are qualified and experienced to provide you with practical methods. You will do brainstorming to come up with the best ideas.

Having a coach during this period can be useful because you will report back to them and discuss more about your stress levels. There may be times where you are coping, and there are other times where you may be struggling with overwhelming situations since everything could be happening at once.

It is also important to let your family members and close friends know what you have begun to take on. If you keep this quiet, they will soon notice a change in behaviour and this can be frustrating for them. They will have more compassion for you when you are straight with them. A lot of support can come from these types of connections. Group support can also be something to think about.
