Decorating Tips Using Faux Fur Throw Blanket

By Thomas Cox

Blankets are woven cloth meant to keep a person warm while sleeping or lying down and can also be used in picnic where people sit when it is spread out. Throw blankets are small blankets with decorative colors and patterns used in giving extra warmth and in decorating the outside of bed. They are thicker than bed sheets and gives more warm and comfort comparatively.

They were traditionally made with wool because of its natural breathability, fire retardant properties and warmth. Though, faux fur throw blanket is now more common which are made of synthetic fibers. The need of fur from animals raised in farms for this purpose is lessened because some animals raised there are badly treated which animal welfare organizations are against of.

Throw blankets are being used in decorating other furniture in the house, specially the bed and chairs due to its smaller size. These are used in giving warmth and comfort to small children which regular ones are too large for them and when you are sitting. It fits well in tidy and neat spaces also which makes them cozier and more inviting.

Limit your decorations to a very few items specially when these are other items created from faux fur such as rugs or throw pillows. Placing numerous of them in an area will make the space too rustic or heavy looking. Having less of them helps in accentuating the room and providing more texture on anywhere they are placed such as the sofa.

Before buying, research on which company in your area are selling the highest quality and check them yourself to make sure you like them. Choose those that have longer hair because they are the ones that does not look fake. Variation in tone is better compared to flat colors and choose creamy hues instead of white for a more natural look.

Lighter colors could be decorated for a longer period because they suit better with warm weathers compared with darker ones. People that do not want to change decorations every season may find this ideal for their decorative needs. They mix well also with modern colors like pink, navy and the bohemian schemes.

Pair them with the right materials particularly those that have opposite aesthetics like a modern space to make it feel cozier. Many materials may be paired with them well such as heavy wool, silk and velvet. The contrasting effect of a contemporary design and an inviting effect would be achieved creating a less colder feel in the area.

Start in the bedrooms when decorating faux fur items and living room next due to their coziness and could be used in cuddling on the sofa. If you have a pet, they would like to curl up on them. Try adding them to formal spaces so the area will feel warm and reflect light when strategically placed.

Place them somewhere people are able to touch them. This invites people to come into the room because people are tempted to touch them. These are usually washable with cold water though some are not so check them if it can be.
