The problem could be a sparse, weedy lawn that needs renewing or a barren backyard. Regardless, calling the experts is the easy way of getting an instant, lush lawn.

Landowners start by preparing their spaces for installation. This is a beauty enhancement act and in that case, gets rid of anything that can compromise a good look. Uproot any existing grass or weeds, discard large chunks of earth in appropriate areas, and fix the drainage system in a manner that it can hold enough water and discard the excess.

Sod gives an appealing look if installed immediately after a transaction. If kept in the open for too long, some sections become loose and fall off or may start drying. The fact tells landowners to purchase after preparing the areas thoroughly. The concept keeps you from wasting your funds and time.

Preparations on the topsoil are important. Use the best quality and adequate amounts depending on a general state of your area. In the rocky areas, it is advisable that you increase the amount of topsoil because there are chances that the city has insufficient minerals. As you go on with the preparations, spread to all areas evenly, level and impact with a roller until it is in position.

Note that the sod will grow correctly in the presence of ideal conditions. These are unknown by looking visually and should instead invest in a thorough testing session. To take a soil test, gather samples from several places that you will be sodding and take to the certified centers. The results guide the future decisions because you will know the areas to avoid entirely or enrich with agricultural components.

If the soil cannot support growth, the examiners will advise accordingly. Else, unroll the sod along a straight edge and put neatly in a brickwork fashion. Generally, pieces fit together snugly, with tight edges. Beware not to overlap, stretch or pushed upwards. The seams will disappear within a few weeks once the sod sits perfectly.

Sods are available in a range of sizes, and as you put on the ground, the sizes may differ. The best solution is trimming with a sharp blade. The weather during the period of installation impacts on the final conditions. Muddy condition is unfavorable because there are chances of stepping on the turf hence printing ugly marks, and leaving bumps. If unavoidable, use planks of wood to press the wet surfaces for a neat arrangement of unrolled sods.

Cut the curves neatly, fill in the seams and roll until the surface is even. Later, sprinkle enough amount of water and any oath advised components. It is important that you water your new sod else a harsh weather will undo your hard work after a few days. Monitor the appearance and give regular care.
