Identify the pot you would want to use. The common type is the clay pot. Even it is new, give it a clean by washing it with warm soap and warmed water, scrubbing it with wash rug, and drying it in the sun. Make sure that it is cleaned and ready to receive the decorating materials. This is done to make ensure that there is no moisture in it so that the materials will adhere to it.

Choose the tiles with best design. Having a good color and pattern will have a very good impact on the overall aesthetics of the mosaic pot, making it appear to be colorful and interesting. Take note that not all tiles are applicable to this artwork. Therefore, they must be chosen carefully. If in doubt, consult an expert.

When creating mosaic, you must have the small hammer, working gloves, nipper, heavy cloth, protective eye wear, and a work space with you to ensure safety. Lay the tile on a flat work space and cover it with a heavy cloth or towel. Gently tap it using your hammer until you feel that the pieces are broken. For tiles that are not totally broken into small pieces, a nipper will do the trick.

Attach the pieces to the pot by using the mortar mix. Prepare the mortar powder and mixed it with water. Mix the two constantly until the mixture is fully incorporated. Use it immediately after mixing them. For best results, use a thin set mortar powder modified with polymer.

To create a mosaic design, spread the mortar paste on the back portion of every single piece and affix it firmly to the pot. The paste must be thin. The grout is made once you completely set the mortar. If you want to add color to the gray grout, an acrylic paint can be added to it. Set aside for two hours to completely dry.
