The Principles Of San Antonio Landscape Design That You Need To Know

By Sarah McDonald

When you are making designing your landscape, you need to know the basic principles to guide you. These guidelines are relevant regardless of the model you have. You may have come up with your idea or may have even borrowed one from a friend. However, you do not need to make use of all the principles in one model. Once you have understood them, it will be easier for you to come up with more ideas and increase the creativity. You should not, however, feel like these San Antonio landscape design principles are rules.

When you are making a plan, one of your primary goals needs to be unity. This is better known as the consistency or repetition. The repetition will ensure that the model has some unity when you repeat things like plants or the decor. Consistency will bring about the unity when all the different elements come together to make something whole.

Another principle you should have is simplicity. It is one of the principles used in the art. As a beginner, it is one guideline you can use. You can just be simple when beginning and add something later. You can, for instance, pick around three colors and repeat them through the entire garden. When you keep the decor to a minimum, or when you use a specific theme, then you will be practicing simplicity.

Another thing you should remember is the balance for the entire model. For backyard model, two types of balance can be used. The symmetrical balance is where items that are similar to each other in size or shape are placed in rows at equal distance from each other. Here the garden is usually divided equally. The colors, the theme, and the texture may remain constant. The other type is asymmetrical where everything is placed at random.

Another thing to check it the harmony or the contract that you create. In most cases, the plants will help you achieve this. You can use a theme that is consistent and have different heights of plants, different colors, and different textures. This basic theme will be utilized in most of the designs. Therefore, maintaining harmony using things like rocks will be simple in that model.

The color will add to the dimension of real life. When you use bright colors like yellow, red, or orange will make the objects to seem closer to you. Using colors like the blues and greens will make these objects to look further from you. White, grey and black are considered neutral. It is best if you use them in the background with bright colors.

To keep away from the radical and sudden changes in your design. It is best for you to take advantage of the natural transition. This will in most cases be brought out with the colors or plant heights you use. You can apply this principle to different factors like the textures, the size, or the shape of some of these elements in your backyard.

When you are making a model to be used in the backyard, you will need to consider the cost of the project. Various factors will influence this. It will depend on the details you have for the particular project. However, you need to have a budget that you will work with.
