Tips For Your Family Photography Kauai

By Eric Wallace

It might have been quite some time since you and your entire family took a photo together. Or it could be that you have never taken any group photos together. You can decide to organize your relatives and organize for a family photography Kauai session. While this is something that is definitely not easy, it is something valuable and something that you will remember for a long time. Here is how to make your photo session go nicely.

Think about what you are going to wear well beforehand. It can be great if you can coordinate your clothing in some way. You can wear colors that complement each other or you can wear similar clothes or clothes that go well together. This will add an interesting dynamic to the photo. You should also wear clothes that will come out great when photographed.

Stagger the heads of the people during the actual shoot. Do not put everyone in a straight line. Try to arrange the people, so that some heads are diagonal to each other. This might require that you have some people seated, while others are standing. You can also have some other people standing on objects, to make sure that everyone can be seen clearly during the shot. Try and use natural objects in the environment to sit or stand on.

Don't be too rigid during the shoot. This will come out as unnatural in the photo. Try and relax and get some people to bend some of their body parts, since this is what will look natural. For instance, you can have some people dip their hands in their pockets with their thumbs out. You can also have some people stand sideways, while holding their waist or pose when putting most of their body weight on one leg.

Having props can make your photos much more exciting. You can take a variety of props with you to the session. Just make sure that the props are relevant in some way to the group. You can also use any natural props that you find in the area to your advantage.

If taking photos with children, don't be too strict on them and get them to pose in a certain way. Some of their natural poses could actually turn out better than your suggested poses. So, just relax and let the children be, even if they want to run around and play around before the shoot starts.

Think about where you want the photo to be taken. It can be quite tricky to get the whole family to a certain location all at the same time. That is why you have to think about this issue well. Find a location that everyone will find convenient to access. It can be at the photographer's studio or it can be at another independent location.

Apart from taking one big group photo, consider taking smaller group photos as well. For instance, you can let the children pose only with their grandparents. You can also let smaller family groups take pictures together. Or you can let all the girls pose together, then all the males. Just create different dynamics that highlight relationships in the group.
