Growing bamboo in pots or other containers makes an enthralling feature. The colors and the shapes of containers used in growing bamboo are limitless. When placing the container in the garden the fear of it taking the garden is reduced because it acts as a barrier hence the chances of roots moving to the garden are reduced. Growing Black Bamboo Plants in Pots does not only enhance the flexibility but also gives the place where it has been place an enthralling look.

Any type of bamboo is likely to grow when grown in the vessel. Some species take short periods to grow while others have lower growth rate. Those that take short period to grow to maturity, require frequent repotting. Those that are slow growers may consume a bit more time before repotting is done. When choosing species to grow, have one that you are capable of caring.

Sunlight really affects their rate of growth. Different types have different requirements of sunlight. If you intend to keep them within the room, choose that does not require a lot of sunlight. Choose the smaller ones if the space within the room is limited. Never choose tall ones if you intend to place them within the room.

Some species are fast growers and are said to be running type. For the running type their roots become vessel bound after less time and therefore require replacement. If precautionary measures are not taken in time, it may die. Clumping ones are slow growers and may take longer periods before there is need for replacement.

Once a containerized type becomes roots bound, an appropriate precautionary measure need to be taken. One may either decide to repot it or divide it for its betterment. Dividing is mainly carried out during the winter and the spring to prohibit it from dying. This is the most appropriate time because the rate of growth is at minimum.

Repotting involves placing it in a new vessel which is likely to be larger. This process is less delicate and can be done any month of the year irrespective of the season. Abnormal changes in temperature may make it unhealthy since there is less insulation of roots because are close to the surface. The negative effect may be reduced by covering the vessel with burlap which acts as an insulator during cold seasons. Taking it indoor could help too.

Regular watering during winters is recommended to help it acquire enough water. During hot periods, it is advisable to keep watering them. This is because there is too much evaporation and also the roots are close to the surface. Normally, the size of plant is determined by the size of root ball. Those with smaller root balls results into smaller ones.

Choose a vessel that will make the whole thing stable. Buy a shorter one and also a wide one. One with these features will be much stable and cannot topple over easily. Make a point of putting heavy materials such as the rocks at the bottom to make it more stable. The choice may also be greatly influenced by the color of the vessel.
